Juneteenth Film and Discussion, Utah Film Center presents, “Tell Them We Are Rising” at 6:30 p.m. at Ogden’s Peery Egyptian Theater.  The film explores the role and impact of Historical Black Colleges & Universities in the U.S. in educating some of the nations’ top Black intellectuals and leaders.

Juneteenth, which was first observed in Texas, is the oldest celebration marking the end of slavery in the US.  Juneteenth was established as a statewide holiday observance by Governor Herbert in 2016.  Juneteenth Holiday Observance is on the third Saturday in June.
