Black storytelling is a powerful accumulation of folklore, history and orature currently practiced In America. It is the hopes, desires and dreams of the Ancestors. It is the lullabies of enslaved mothers and the work songs of our fathers. It is “playin’ the dozens” and the “Amen” in church. This lecture/workshop will explore and explain the African connections, historical, political and social development in the United States and the future continuation of this art form.
